Editorial Policy

Our goal is simple: give you accurate, practical information you can act on, and be open about how we produce it.

How articles are made

  1. Every article starts with a brief: what readers need to know, which template it follows and which sources to use.
  2. Research comes before writing. We gather primary sources first: research papers, government guidance and university extension services, not other blogs.
  3. Articles are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools, written to our templates, then checked against their sources before they are published.
  4. Every factual claim links to a named source, and each article ends with its full source list.
  5. Our articles are general information based on published research. They are not reviewed by a doctor or dietitian and are not medical advice, so talk to your own doctor about your health. See our medical disclaimer.
  6. Before publishing, we ask whether the page gives readers something useful they can’t easily find elsewhere, such as a clear step-by-step method, a fair side-by-side comparison or a plain-language summary of the research.

Sources we use

  • Government agencies such as the FDA, USDA, CDC and the National Institutes of Health.
  • University extension services and medical institutions.
  • Peer-reviewed research, described as precisely as we can: the type of study, how many people took part, how long it ran and who funded it when the paper says.

We avoid citing companies that sell competing products, except for facts about their own products, such as an ingredient list.

Claims we won’t make

  • That a food or supplement treats, cures or prevents a disease.
  • That we tested, tasted or lab-analyzed something we didn’t.
  • Invented experiences, testimonials or reviews.
  • Stronger conclusions than the evidence supports. When research is small, early or mixed, we say so.

Our own products

Ultimate Gut is published by Ultimate Health Solutions, LLC, which sells some of the products mentioned on this site. Product boxes are clearly labeled, and comparisons treat other brands fairly. Our disclosure explains the details.

Updates and corrections

We update articles when research or official guidance changes. When we correct a factual error, we fix it and add a dated note at the end of the article saying what changed. If you spot an error, please tell us.
